Travis: A Soldier’s Story sailed to Miami, Florida this past week to screen the documentary at the Bill Cosford Cinema at the University of Miami. Our team had an incredible time, and we are sincerely grateful to the Miami Wounded Warrior Host Committee (Raul Mas, Brian Lynch, Harry Horgan & Michael Tobiassen) for coordinating such a memorable week for our team and most importantly for Travis, Kelsey and Chloe Mills. During our stay, the community demonstrated that Miami takes great care of their Veterans. We have so many people to thank for making this possible. Please see the pictures below which highlight our time in Miami! To view all of the press from the week, please visit: https://travisthemovie.com/press/.

The VAC (Veteran’s Airlift Command) donated our flights. This incredible organization supports combat warriors and their families across the country by providing free transportation. We were also honored to have the executives of VAC attend the screening!
Miami Heat – Thank you for treating the film team to VIP access and for honoring Travis Mills at the beginning of the game!
The Honorable Tomas Regalado, Mayor of the City of Miami welcomed the Mills family to Miami with a gorgeous reception at city of Miami’s Mayor’s terrace. Lt Col Tony Colmenares also shared some very kind words about Travis’s bravery.
Smith & Wollensky treated the team to a incredible steak dinner! Two of our servers were veterans and they had a great time hanging out with Travis.
Shake A Leg Foundation – On Sunday, we enjoyed sailing in Biscayne Bay with Harry Horgan and volunteers onboard Impossible Dream, a high tech catamaran, while Travis had the opportunity to go sailboat racing! It was an absolutely beautiful day and we enjoyed getting to meet all of the wonderful people involved with Shake A Leg. The Shake A Leg Foundation also honored Travis, and we enjoyed a reception put together by Bacardi.
Just when we felt that this trip could not be more honoring to Travis, the surprises continued. Travis received a police escort from Doral PD to the recognition ceremony at SOUTHCOM with local Mayors presenting proclamations.
On Monday, March 3rd we screened Travis: A Soldier’s Story at the Bill Cosford Cinema. We are greatly appreciative to our sponsors who made this night possible. Thank you to the University of Miami for hosting us at this wonderful venue and accommodating the sold out screening. The guests were able to enjoy cocktails and bites, the screening, and a Q&A with Travis Mills. A special highlight of the screening was when Travis’s daughter Chloe stood on the stage with her Dad during the Q&A.
One of the highlights of the evening is when Travis shared with the audience that he would not be where he is today without the support from his wife and daughter. The audience gave Travis’s wife, Kelsey Mills, a standing ovation!
The evening ended with a surprise for the Mills family! Royal Caribbean donated a cruse to Travis, Kelsey and Chloe Mills!
Miami, our team would like to sincerely thank you for the warm welcome. We are continually humbled by this journey of getting to share Travis: A Soldier’s Story with communities accross the country. Thank you!
