The Mills Honored at Detroit Lions vs. NY Giants Game!

December 23, 2013 Leave a Comment

Over a year ago, we met the Mills family and had the honor to create Travis: A Soldier’s Story. Our hope was that more people could learn about the sacrifices these men, women and families make as they courageously serve our country and that Travis could be honored.

Our expectations have been exceeded. To have the film screen at the U.S. Capitol and now the trailer has screened in front of over 100,000+ people between the New England Patriots and Lions games..we are amazed! Thank you for your support and cheering on this inspiring family.

November 8, 2013 Leave a Comment

The journey continues…finally, we get to share an exciting announcement with everyone: Travis: A Soldier’s Story will be shown at a special private viewing for Congress on Capitol Hill on November 18th. Travis and Kelsey, along with fellow quadruple-amputee Taylor Morris and girlfriend Danielle Kelly, producers Katie and Reece Norris and Jonathon will all be in attendance. (You can read more about Taylor’s inspiring story at www.taylormorris.org). This showing was organized by Rep. Bruce Braley of Iowa, and we are grateful for his support.

How can you help? Contact your representative and encourage them to attend this showing. With all the conflict and frustration in our country right now, it is easy to forget sometimes that despite these frustrations, we really are truly blessed to live in a country with such freedom; and Travis: A Soldier’s Story is a film meant to remind us of the individual men, women and families who volunteer to help protect those freedoms. No matter what our party lines or political positions, our nation’s service members and their families truly deserve to be honored for the sacrifices they make for all of us.

You can find out who your representative is at this link – HTTP://WWW.HOUSE.GOV/REPRESENTATIVES/FIND/ which gives you an instant link to their contact information.

Please continue to keep all of these young men and their families in your prayers.

Without their support and willingness to revisit and share their experiences, this film wouldn’t have been possible.

Thank you again to all of you who have supported us – whether through Kickstarter, attending premieres, or even just Facebook comments. It has been so great to see how Travis’s story has impacted others and this little film continues to grow.

Want to see the film? You can visit the following link for a current list of screenings: www.travisthemovie.com We have several confirmed and sold-out screenings and many more throughout the country just waiting for your help to get confirmed. Travis Inspires Fayetteville – Fort Bragg!

October 20, 2013 Leave a Comment

A special thank you to everyone who came out to support Travis Mills for the Fayetteville screening! This was a meaningful venue to Travis. “Fort Bragg is where I grew up,” Mills said. “I came here when I was 18 and spent 6 1/2years here before I was injured.”

Interview with Travis before the event:

WNCN: News, Weather for Raleigh. Durham, Fayetteville
The Fort Bragg community embraced this event, and promoter, Christy Fessey, did a tremendous job putting together this screening! Due to the overwhelming response, theater management upgraded the screening to a larger theater to accommodate the crowds. Mills along with Specialist Brandon Fessey, who was a part of the film, had the opportunity to greet others and speak at the event.

Christy shared with us, “He (Mills) got two standing ovations! – When Travis first came up to talk and then when the movie was over. There was a lot of different emotions throughout the film…clapping at times, laughing at the funnier moments, dead silence at times – there was some crying.  The crowd was definitely engaged in the film! Everyone loved it. I even had some guy come up to me this morning at my kids elementary school and shake my hand and said thank you for bringing the film here and that he thought it was amazing. Travis was a big hit!”
